Dr. Tate is a graduate of The Ontario Veterinary College, and has been a partner at the hospital since 1979. Dr. Tate's areas of interest include surgery, internal medicine, and cardiology.

Dr. Stuart Owen:  Dr. Owen graduated from The Ontario Veterinary College and owen_1.jpgbecame a partner at the hospital in 1990.  Dr. Owen's areas of interest include rigid & flexible endoscopy internal medicine, and dermatology.

Dr. Darren Marks:  Dr. Marks graduated from The Ohio State University College IMG_3518.JPGof Veterinary Medicine and later completed an internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York.  Dr. Marks became a partner in 2005, and his interests include surgery, regenerative medicine, emergency medicine, and oncology.

Dr. Ashley Weisel: Dr. Weisel graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College ashley.JPGin the spring of 2011.  She joined the McGilvray team this September and is looking forward to providing the best care for your pets!

Hospital Manager

John: John has held a number of positions at McGilvray Veterinary Hospital since he started working here in the late 1960s. He now manages the hospital IMG_4540_1.JPGinventory and ensures that things run smoothly in the hospital.  John is also an expert at dental care and performs a majority of the dental cleanings.  He also assists with various surgical procedures.  John is accompanied to work with his two dogs Hercules, a Chihuahua, and Argo, a schnauzer, while his cat, Simba prefers to stay home.

Laura: Laura graduated from the Ridgetown Veterinary Technology program in 2000 and has been with us ever since.  Laura plays many vital roles in thelaura_crop.jpg hospital, including monitoring patients under anesthetic, performing in-house diagnostic tests, and executing certain treatment procedures.  Laura's attention to detail and patient care are what make her such a valued member of the team.  Laura's two cats "Atlas" and "MacGyver" share their house with Laura and Laura's husband and daughter.

Office Manager


IMG_3514.JPGChrista:  Christa started working at our hospital in 2005 and her dedication and compassion are evident the moment you meet her.  Christa spends the majority of her time managing front office duties and bookkeeping.  Having worked for several years as a veterinary assistant before taking on this role, Christa is very experienced with patient handling and care, and will often help out in these areas when needed.  At home, Christa's two cats "Garfield" and "Bobby" dedicate their time to finding trouble ... when they're not sleeping.


Veterinary Assistants

IMG_3348.JPGAnyely: Anyely joined our team in 2008 after completing a co-op placement at McGilvray in 2007.  Anyely focuses on pre- and post-operative care of our hospitalized patients in addition to assisting with patient handling and treatment procedures. Manchis, Mia, Tricky and Oso, her Chihuahuas, tolerate the fantastic outfits she creates for them.

Rosie: Rosie began working at McGilvray Veterinary Hospital in 2009.  SheIMG_3276.JPG is responsible for caring for hospitalized and boarding animals, and can be relied upon to assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures.  She can also be seen working in reception part time. She shares her home with 2 dogs (Bosco & Henry), a cat she adopted from the clinic named Tucker and now has a cat named Alice too! She is also now living upstairs and cares for the animals in the late evening as well.

Receptionist

IMG_3269.JPGKarla: Karla has been greeting clients at McGilvray since 2006. She is very knowledgeable about pet insurance and pet licensing and is a great resource for your questions on these topics. She shares her home with 4 cats - Kujo, Chico, Poncho & Karina.


Groomers

Leigh:
  Leigh (left) began grooming professionally while working at Bow Wow Wow.  Since moving over to McGilvray Veterinary Hospital in 2006, she has committed herself to caring for your pet's grooming needs on aIMG_3281.JPG daily basis.  Leigh focuses on bathing and brushing your pets and is also skilled at touch-up trims.  Leigh has three cats: Cammie, Jack, and Willow.

Barb: Barb (right) began working at McGilvray in 2008.  She completed her training as a groomer at Pets Beautiful Grooming School.  Barb is very skilled at trimming your dog’s hair coat to look just the way you like it.  With her many years of experience, Barb produces fantastic results every time.  Her canine sidekicks, Benny and Terra, watch on as she works her magic, while her cat, Sophia, waits patiently at home!
